Vintage Cars at New Egypt Speedway: May 22, 2010

The Garden State Vintage Stock Car Club had some nice cars on hand last night at New Egypt Speedway. Their website is Here's a video of some of these guys getting around NES last night:

Here's a few photos I managed to get. I missed a bunch more cars that were parked off turn 4 earlier in the evening. For some additional (as in better) vintage photos from last night, check out the message board over at

New Egypt Speedway Modified Heat video: May 22, 2010

Jimmy Horton in Victory Lane

Last night was a decent night of racing at NES, with the show moving along quickly due to the threat of rain. Rain did finally come at 9:30, cutting short the Speedster feature, which I wasn't watching anyway. It kind of felt like a two division night since the Speedsters and Late Models didn't really do it for me. NES needed the Sprint class running last night to complete the package. The Sprint cars were running at Bridgeport last night, and I'm sure they put on a good show. Congrats to Jimmy Horton on a well deserved win in the Modified feature.

Here's a video of Heat number 2 in which Mike McAleer suffered a bad flip down the backstretch. Mike took an ambulance ride but was reportedly released before the night's events were complete. Johnny McClelland had a bit of luck fall his way in this one. Johnny Mac got was caught up in the first wreck and didn't make it out in time. McAleer's wreck, and subsequent red flag, allowed Johnny Mac to return to the track without losing a lap, eventually finishing 6th for the last qualifying spot.

New Egypt Speedway Modified Consi Video: May 15, 2010

Last night at New Egypt Speedway was crazy! Jimmy Blewett's debut in a Sportsman Modified (he was clean and competitive), wild finishes in every feature, and a fist fight between Pat Wall and an NES official.

I usually show a video of a Modified heat, but today I just had to show you the Modified Consi. That's because Billy Pauch, Rick Laubach, John Guarino, Keith Hoffman, Gary Butler, Tim Tanner Jr. all had to qualify in the Consi. Hoffman takes the 6th and final spot from Butler, last week's feature winner, at the checkered.

Joe over at summed up last night nicely in a post here.

New Egypt Speedway Modified Heat Video: May 1, 2010

New Egypt Speedway keeps getting better. Saturday night's show was well run as each division put on some great racing, and all the racing was wrapped up by 9:30 or so.

Rick Laubach earned his second Modified victory of the season after a hard fought battle with John Guarino. Scott Dugan won the Outlaw Stock feature for what I believe is his very first win at New Egypt Speedway. For complete results go to

Here's some Modified heat video from last night. Tim Tanner's engine lets go with no warning, and Rick Laubach and John Guarino battle it out.
