Vintage Cars at Wall Stadium Speedway Turkey Derby 2012

I decided to attend the Wall Stadium Turkey Derby on Saturday November 24, 2012.
They was a great turnout of vintage cars, including Ray Evernham's restored Ford Probe Modified from 1990 or so, and the original XL-1 driven by Wally Dallenbach and restored by Eddie Bohn for Ray Evernham.

I think I got a decent photo of every car except the original XL-1. Also, I included some video of the vintage cars pulling away with Ray Evernham in the No. 19 and Wally Dallenbach in the restored XL-1 leading the pack. I managed to catch every car on video except for the No. 17 and No. 65 pictured below.

For more great photos from the Turkey Derby, including a shot of Wally Dallenbach driving the restored XL-1, please check out this post over at

Ray Evernham's restored Ford Probe Modified

This was one of my favorites, original and unrestored.

This XL-1 car is the recreation built by Al Gehrum, who built the XL-1 cars back in the day

Hey, I know that guy!

Vintage cars, including Kenny Weld Modified, at New Egypt Speedway May 14, 2011

The Garden State Vintage Stock Car Club visited New Egypt Speedway this past Saturday night. On display was the beautifully restored Kenny Weld #91 Modified. I understand that this was the car's maiden voyage out on the track since being restored.

Joe over at tells a neat story about how Billy Pauch liked the 91 car so much he built a car to look like it. Read about it here.

Billy's restored car was on display at New Egypt Speedway on August 30, 2008. You can see photos of that car here.

Be sure to check out the video posted below of all of the vintage cars getting around New Egypt.

Wall Stadium Cruise Night April 29, 2011

Wall had a decent turnout for their first Cruise Night of 2011. Wall will be hosting their Cruise Night on the final Friday of each month through September. What I really like about the Wall Cruise Night is that there are no restrictions on year or make or anything. Antiques, muscle, late models, VW bugs, all seem to be welcome. Except for Donks! (just kidding). Read more about it here.

1934 Ford

This is a 1942 Crosley, one of 1,029 made that year. 38 CID and about 13 HP. Never heard of it until tonight. My daughter wants one.

I would love to see more G-Bodies at these events. Yes I know that technically this is an A-body.
